in düsseldorf, they drink altbier slowly and on purpose. we decided to run first.
the altbier 5k is a race through summerhill on the sunday of altbier fest. you run 3.1 miles, and then the biergarten is waiting under the elms with altbier served the traditional way: one beer, one tally, and your coaster keeps count. when you’re done, put it on top of your glass.
